A Tasty, Healthy, QUICK Breakfast

Don't have time for Breakfast?

Put down that doughnut, and throw away that breakfast cereal.  If you are in a hurry, here is a quick breakfast that is delicious and one thousand times better for you and your kids.

Berry Breakfast Smoothie
-1/2 Cup Almond Milk
-1-2 Raw Egg (you may have to sneak this one in if it's for your kids)
Make sure eggs come from happy, cage-free hens
-1 Cup frozen berries (blue-, black-, straw-, rasp-)
-1-2 paks of Stevia/Truvia (make it as sweet as they like)
you can even grow your own!
-I like to throw some raw spinach leaves in as well, but our kids
(and Bridget!) are completely grossed out by this...

A berry smoothie takes 5 minutes of your time but gives much peace of mind that you and your family have actually had Real Food for breakfast!  The recipes in the book you see on the right can easily be modified by replacing the sweetener with Stevia and using Almond Milk...

  1. I like to use the slimfast chocolate. I use fat free lactose free milk, a few cubes of ice and some frozen blue berries. You are correct with a small single serve chopper it takes less time than a bowl of cereal. Skipping breakfast is not good for your metabolism.

  2. A cool trick we use sometimes is to freeze blueberry juice in the ice-trays. This really helps the flavor of the smoothie and adds even more anti-oxidants...

  3. As a vegan, I love making green smoothies everyday. In mine I put either Spinach or Kale, a frozen banana, berries, fresh pineapple, a couple of ice cubes, and water. Sometimes I add a little almondbutter...so good!

  4. My latest addition to a berry smoothie (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries) is peeled raw beets. It gives the smoothie a unique flavor you're sure to love,... or hate.
    I really like it.
